Jan I.C. Wyllie
Jan Wyllie has been in the business of taxonomy development and application for more than 25 years. Trend Monitor, the company he founded in 1986, pioneered taxonomy-based publishing in the 1980s with its Computing, Communications and Media periodicals, published for five years in association with Aslib. In1991, he became the founding editor of Aslib’s bold and well respected monthly magazine, The Intelligent Enterprise, which covered knowledge-management issues long before the term itself was coined.

With Trend Monitor, Jan focuses on delivering bespoke-intelligence, taxonomy design and web-development expertise. For the past four years, he has also compiled and edited CRM-Trends and CRM-Monitor. His latest venture, Global Economy Monitor (GEM), is currently launching a web-based series of publications with a report on consumers. GEM is designed as a taxonomy-enhanced intelligence publication. It is a monthly analysis of what the world’s most influential business sources are saying using content analysis methodology to identify trends, make predictions and inform commentaries.
