Blogs and wikis for law firms and in-house counsel

Utilising Web 2.0 for business communication and collaboration

Date: 15 Jul 2008 - 15 Jul 2008

Location: Central London

This masterclass will enable attendees to cut through the jargon and hype of Web 2.0 to understand how tools such as blogs and wikis can be effectively deployed in their own business setting. The masterclass will review - using "real world" case studies - how social tools can bring benefits in the areas of internal communications, employee recruitment and engagement, knowledge management and client relationship management.

Allen & Overy LLP is widely regarded as having led the legal sector's use of social tools to support knowledge sharing and collaboration and this masterclass will allow attendees to learn from their practical experience of what to do - and what not to do - to achieve real business success.

The masterclass will be interactive, providing attendees with the chance to reflect and discuss their own plans and challenges and align their own ideas with established best practice and the latest thinking.

The masterclass will be led by Ruth Ward, Allen & Overy's Head of Knowledge Systems and Development. Stuart Barr, formerly Online Services Manager at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer and now at leading Web 2.0 consultancy Headshift, will join Ruth for part of the day to provide expert technical insight.
