For over a decade, ARK has been encouraging legal services providers to manage the risks to their businesses effectively, through its Risk Management for Law Firms conference. More recently, with the introduction of SRA regulation, it has been supporting legal businesses to meet their regulatory requirements too, offering essential updates through its conferences, training courses, business books and webinars. ARK has created a two-way channel between legal businesses and their regulators, aiming to alleviate confusion and demystify any areas where the regulatory principles have been found open to interpretation.
These events have helped to establish a community that legal compliance professionals can turn to when they are uncertain and also use to benchmark their current policies and systems. In 2014, ARK launched the Legal Compliance Association (LCA), working in collaboration with the International Compliance Association; Compliance Week; Managing Partner; Solicitors Journal and, more recently, Central Law Training to deliver thought leadership papers, up-to-the minute news reports and a searchable information repository (spanning articles, reports; presentation slides and biographies) to the desktops and mobile devices of this increasingly professionalised network. The LCA is open to firms of all sizes. Current members include some of the UK’s largest law firms; continental firms and ABSs.
ARK’s compliance conferences have been finalists in the Conference Awards for the past two consecutive years (2014 and 2015).
